Who's Tracks?

As a part of the who's tracks series here is two different Wolf  tracks.
This one is a huge track. It's the size of the palm of my hand. It is also round in shape.

This track is longer then it is round like the above one. The knife is around 4" long.
Both look like wolf tracks. They are way to big to be coyote tracks. The shape is even different.

Remember if you see a wolf that it is illegal to shoot them. However it is good to shoot them with a camera. In fact it is encouraged that you do so. To see a wolf in the wild is a rare sight, so cherish the moment if you see one.

Coming soon I will have an update to the mushroom experiment and the conclusions reached. Also coming soon will be a review on different ways to start a fire without matches.Stay tuned.....

As you can see minimal growth. There is some growth but it is slow. We have had 4 warm nights up here.It hasn't seemed to make much of a difference. However I will continue to monitor the growth and will post more pictures as they grow the next few days

Mushroom experiment

It is another beautiful day. A much deserved on at that. After 4 days of cold rain and snow showers. The weather has slowed the mushroom harvesting however today looks promising. But there has been some good things. I have been watching the growth of a cluster of mushrooms for several days and will continue to do so for a few more. I have taken pictures in the morning and in the evening.I will compare them with to see when the greatest growth takes place. I.E. do they grow more at night ect? Also I am noticing the effect of the cold nights on the spawn of the mushrooms.

On a fun note I have had elk visit my camp on a number of occasion's. I also have a Mountain Blue Bird who wants to move in with me. They started to make a nest in my 5th -wheel hitch. I was sorry to have to evict them.

I will have updates as I can. I am accessing the Internet via my phone so its tough to download much. I will try to have some pictures soon.....
